76th Space Control Facility at Peterson Air Force Base

Project Description

This new, 36,731-square-foot structure on a 14-acre site provides the U.S. Air Force’s 76th Space Control Squadron with office, maintenance, storage and high-bay space, and includes a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility.

Construction encompassed two-story masonry, brick and metal panels for the building shell, aluminum sunshades, blast-resistant curtain walls, EPDM roofing, metal-stud framing, high-end interior finishes, an Energy Management Control System, and extensive security systems, including electrical, metal cages and sound attenuation.

Additionally, the project was built to meet LEED Silver certifications, including such sustainable-construction features as water-efficient design, optimization of energy performance, certified wood, low-VOC materials, sunshades, and a high-performance mechanical system.
