The Buckley ANG Hangar 801 project involved a five-phase renovation of an occupied F-16 hangar with two 2-story lean-to office buildings attached to each side. Renovation work included demolition and construction of a new office-building layout through finishes, which included new roofs from the deck up. Hangar renovation also included the restoration of the existing hangar doors, installation of a new high-expansion foam system and associated piping, and repairs to and coating on the existing hangar roof.
The scope of work also included upgrades to electrical, plumbing, mechanical and fire-protection systems throughout the entire structure, as well as asbestos abatement. Construction included structural steel, masonry, a blast-proof glass curtain wall, metal wall panels, membrane roofing, metal roofing, steel framing and drywall, doors/frames/hardware and floor finishes.
