137th Space Warning Squadron Support Facility

Project Description

The 137th Space Warning Squadron provides critical missile warning, space launch, and nuclear detonation detection.

When an older building at Buckley Air Force Base had outlived its usefulness in support of their mission, Bryan Construction built a new, 26,000-square-foot, two-story building with an armory, training/simulation rooms, highly secured SCIF areas, offices and a storage area.

The building structure is masonry load-bearing walls with a steel frame, with an exterior of ground fused block and composite metal panels. The main entry is made of massive poured-in-place concrete with an aluminum window wall. A new main electrical service was installed, and had to be staged to keep three existing buildings in service – one of which housed base security.

Overcoming particularly bad winter weather in a timely fashion, Bryan received an overall evaluation of “Outstanding” on this project.
