Relief Upgrades Coming to Denver County Jail Smith Road
It has been an anticipated project which will provide some relief to the Denver Jail system, and construction will begin soon. The City and County of Denver have selected Bryan Construction, Inc. as their CM/GC partner to deliver upgrades at the Denver County Jail on Smith Road.
The project will span two levels and cover almost 25,000 square feet of built out space to accommodate forty-eight double bunk cells as well as day rooms, exercise yards, and control rooms. Clinical spaces, multi-purpose rooms, interview rooms, probation/parole rooms, and office space will also be a part of this endeavor. All of this is topped off with the instillation of security and detention equipment

As a result, the areas will allow more socialization and less time in cells.”
Bryan Construction has delivered several correctional facilities and as is protocol, extra security measurers will be implemented to build in the occupied correctional facility. Each member of the crew undergoes a background check and will pass preliminary screenings to gain access to the jail.
Denver County has requested this project meet EED Silver standards. As such, both floors will include energy efficient light fixtures, mechanical systems, and will incorporate recycled materials when possible. As one of Colorado’s sustainable builders, Bryan Construction will also recycle construction waste as permitted.
Bryan Construction will work with Jacobs Engineering to bring this project to fruition in 2017, and will do so on-time and in budget to ensure Denver County taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently.
