This 119,000-square-foot facility houses the secure administrative and command operations of the 10th Special Forces, and is also used to move and store their equipment. Bryan Construction built the headquarters, as well as associated hardstands, parking for 347 vehicles, covered storage areas, a security fence, utility infrastructure, and armories. Site improvements included a storm-water main and sanitary sewer, along with grading and landscaping. The project also included a 4-acre geothermal field to reduce electrical demand for heating and cooling. Further work included the design and construction of an addition to house a maritime operations facility and parachute-rigging storage. The completed building was LEED-certified “Silver” by the U.S. Green Building Council.
