According to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the construction industry accounts for one in five of all workplace fatalities and half of all trips and falls. That’s why we take safety seriously — your workers’ lives depend on it. We’ve developed meticulous protocols that go beyond standard compliance to create a culture where safety comes first.

Because of the potential hazards posed by the nature of construction work, Bryan Construction has a comprehensive in-house construction safety program designed to identify hazards, instill safe work practices, and significantly reduce the potential for injuries in the workplace.

Our full-time Safety Officers assist in assessing hazards, providing oversight, researching better construction methodologies, and help to maintain compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Bryan Construction Supervisors receive ongoing safety training so they are equipped to recognize a hazard and to take immediate corrective measures as needed. During mandatory weekly safety meetings, employees receive documented training on various safety issues and are advised of any safety concerns that may arise.

A successful, comprehensive safety program for construction ensures employees are protected from potential hazards of the industry, while controlling the expense of workers’ compensation and alleviating the burden of lost workdays due to injury or work-related illness.

A comprehensive construction safety and health program results in lower costs and a safer, more competitive company, like Bryan Construction.

The Importance of an On-Site Safety Program

Having an on-site safety program is more than just following a few rules, it’s your frontline defense against any accidents and injuries. A well-structured construction safety program helps you identify and address risks before they become problems.

At Bryan Construction, we’ve seen firsthand how construction safety programs slash accident rates and boost productivity across our projects. You can’t put a price on your workers’ well-being, but the financial impact of not having a solid construction company safety program is shocking. From OSHA fines to insurance hikes and project delays, the costs add up fast.

Our construction safety program goes beyond basic compliance. Our approach includes daily toolbox talks, regular safety audits, and real-time hazard reporting systems that keep everyone in the loop and our safety officers work alongside our team to create site-specific protocols that address unique project challenges.

Environmental Impact of a Construction Safety and Health Program

Having a construction safety program also impacts the environment, and environmental protection is becoming a make-or-break factor for winning contracts and maintaining community support.

Your project needs more than just safety barriers and warning signs, and we can help you develop helpful waste management strategies, implement proper chemical handling procedures, and ensure your site meets all environmental regulations.

From monitoring air quality to managing stormwater runoff, our team helps you protect both your workers and the surrounding environment.

Safety Awards and Acolades

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, recognized Bryan Construction by presenting us with their third-highest “Bronze Safety Award” for outstanding safety performance.

The selection was made from a large number of construction projects in a five-state area that represented over a billion dollars of workload for the district.

We’ve also received “White Level Partnership” Construction Health & Safety Excellence from the AGC/OSHA Partnership and the U.S. Department of Labor.

These are just two examples of how Bryan Construction goes above and beyond to not only ensure quality, but safety, environmental protection, and compliance as well.
