Empowering Hands-On Learning for the Next Generation
The addition includes a robust suite of educational spaces tailored to modern vocational training needs:
- A fully equipped wood shop
- A state-of-the-art welding shop
- An agricultural learning space designed for indoor instruction
- A functional Home Economics kitchen
- A conference room for meetings, planning, and collaborative instruction
These spaces were designed to create a dynamic learning environment where students can gain real-world skills in high-demand fields—all while staying close to home.
A Vision Years in the Making
The CTE facility is the result of persistent community dedication and long-term planning. Over the years, the Calhan School District proposed a bond several times to fund this addition, but it was not until the proposal emphasized the value of a vocational shop and its long-term impact on students and the community that the bond was finally approved. This support from local voters reflects a shared belief in the importance of preparing students for a variety of career paths.
Broad Impact, Future Growth
As a K–12 facility, Calhan ensures that students of all ages will benefit from the new addition. Whether it’s younger students being introduced to practical life skills or high schoolers preparing for careers in trades or agriculture, the CTE spaces are designed to grow with them.
Beyond serving its own students, Calhan School District plans to lease the facility to surrounding schools, turning the space into a regional educational hub. This approach not only promotes educational equity for neighboring districts but also creates a new revenue stream for Calhan, supporting continued investment in education.
Building Stronger Communities
Bryan Construction is honored to have contributed to a project that so deeply reflects the values of its community: hard work, resilience, and a commitment to education. The Calhan CTE Facility stands as a testament to what can be achieved when vision, persistence, and teamwork come together.
