The auditorium received significant updates to improve its usability for school events, performances, and assemblies. Special attention was given to Significant Support Needs (SSN) classrooms, ensuring they were tailored to meet the unique needs of students requiring additional support. Athletic and recreational spaces, including the gymnasiums and locker rooms, were also upgraded, enhancing the facilities available for physical education programs and extracurricular activities.
Infrastructure improvements were a key component of the project, with upgrades to the cafeteria, library, and restrooms to ensure modern, functional, and accessible spaces for students and faculty. Essential building systems received major enhancements, including the installation of new HVAC units and a chiller to improve air quality and climate control throughout the school. Updated LED lighting was incorporated to provide energy-efficient and brighter learning environments, while roofing replacements ensured the long-term integrity of the building.
Accessibility and security were also prioritized. ADA-compliant parking areas were created to enhance inclusivity, and improvements to doors, hardware, and security systems helped strengthen the school’s overall safety measures. Additionally, the landscaping was refreshed to provide a more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing exterior.
Further upgrades were made possible through a BEST (Building Excellent Schools Today) Grant awarded to Harrison School District 2 (HSD2). This funding allowed for additional critical enhancements, including the installation of a secure vestibule at the main entrance, providing an added layer of security for students, staff, and visitors.
This comprehensive renovation project reflects a commitment to fostering a safe, modern, and inclusive learning environment, ensuring Panorama Middle School remains a state-of-the-art facility for years to come.
