A Multi-Use Educational Facility

The new building expands Horizon Middle School’s capacity with a wide variety of learning and support spaces. It includes general classrooms, specialized innovation rooms, band and orchestra spaces, restrooms, administrative offices, and a full-size gymnasium, each tailored to support a modern educational environment.

Designed with the Future in Mind

The school district required this space for its middle school students and planned to eventually convert it into an early childhood education center. From the outset, our team collaborated with stakeholders to ensure the school district could easily adjust the layout and infrastructure for the future transition. This approach saves time, money, and effort, providing the district with a space that can evolve to meet its needs.

Safety Plan for the Occupied School

One of the most interesting aspects of this project was its location. We constructed the new building within feet of three modular classroom units, two of which remained fully occupied. Safety and communication were our top priorities, with students and staff just steps away.

Bryan Construction coordinated closely with school leadership to develop a detailed logistics and safety plan. Daily site monitoring, controlled access points, clearly marked construction zones, and frequent updates helped maintain a safe and disruption-free environment for everyone on campus.

Additional Scope: Modular Demolition

The project also included tearing down one of the three existing modular buildings. This step was carefully timed and executed to minimize disruption to school operations and ensure safety and efficiency during the process.

Results and Impact

The completed auxiliary building adds significant value to Horizon Middle School’s campus, offering a functional, flexible, and modern space for learning. It meets the school’s current needs and positions the district for future success with adaptable design features built right in.

This project is a strong example of Bryan Construction’s ability to deliver educational facilities that balance immediate function with long-term vision—all while navigating complex site logistics and maintaining a strong focus on safety.
