Ancillary work included the widening of a nearby avenue for a driveway and median and a joint agreement with the city to provide Maxx Bus Line parking.
The project also incorporated the innovative StormTech Stormwater Management System. With interconnected tubes buried under the parking lot, this system efficiently collects melting snow and rainwater through utility hole drains. The tubes are impressive, standing at 5 feet tall and over 8 feet wide, each capable of holding a massive amount of water. In addition to storage – the system also includes layers of rocks and nonwoven and woven geotextile fabrics, which work together to filter stormwater back into the ground.
Not only does this protect valuable land and water resources, but it also helps us meet necessary environmental sustainability standards. We’re proud to be part of this project and look forward to continuing our partnership with King Soopers.
