Minot Indoor Firing Range

Minot Air Force Base North Dakota

This Design-Build project at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, consists of the design and construction of a new Indoor Firing Range facility, along with the demolition and remediation of an existing indoor firing range, to replace two existing 1980s vintage firing ranges and two firing range support buildings. The new facility provides an increase in firing lanes to accommodate the current training load and consolidates classroom space and arms storage into one facility.

The new range will have both an indoor range component along with an attached Combat Arms Training and Maintenance Facility (CATM) component. The range consists of a 21-lane 15,554-square-foot small arms range, 14-lane 10,668-square-foot small arms, and a 4-lane 6,719-square-foot machine gun range. The range component includes the firing ranges, a range supplies room, and control booths. The CATM component, spanning 18,452-square-feet, provides instructor offices, a break room, classrooms, weapons maintenance and cleaning areas, an alarmed weapons and ammunition storage vault, an arms issue room, restrooms, and a laundry room.
